1) Providing agricultural extension assistance to all categories of farmers:
Ensuring that all members of all types of farming families can get services according to their needs.
2) Providing efficient extension services to farmers:
To provide the most cost-effective services to farmers in crops, fisheries, livestock, forestry and family enterprises through skilled extension workers.
3) Decentralization of agricultural program formulation:
Identifying and responding to information needs, gathering information on local resources, program planning, training and media-based programming.
4) Demand-based agricultural extension:
Determining the content of all extension activities and research based on identified needs, problems and potentials.
5) Working with farmers' groups of all categories:
Working with various types of farmer groups related to mutual interests at the field level to deliver maximum benefits to farmers
6) Strengthening agricultural research and agricultural extension activities:
Establishing close linkages with Agricultural Research and Agricultural Extension to find solutions to problems through agricultural laboratories to provide appropriate advice to farmers as per their needs.
7) Training for extension workers:
Training of extension workers based on service needs of farmers.
8) Use of appropriate extension methods:
Extension agencies and staff use farm visits, media, training, fairs, inspection and motivational tours and participatory methods to achieve specific extension objectives of different categories of farmers.
9) Provision of Integrated Extension Assistance:
The Directorate of Agricultural Extension also provides extension assistance through coordination with various government and private agencies.
10) Combined Extension Activities:
To provide extension services through exchange of information and expertise between concerned agencies to ensure optimum utilization of resources.
11) Providing integrated assistance in environmental protection:
Eliminate soil, water and air pollution and control erosion in favor of preserving the balance of biodiversity of the natural environment; Enhancing the capacity of environmental protection and management and public and private sectors to protect environmental issues.
12) Agricultural commercialization:
Helping farmers in marketing and getting fair prices for their produce.
13) Use of Agricultural Information and Communication Technology:
Dissemination of information, advice and technology related to agriculture to agriculturists, farmers and general public.
